Abstract

Two oxygen deficient cubic perovskites, CaLaMgMn06-x(x = 0.43 and 0.57), have been prepared under oxygen pressure routes of 60 kbar(H) and 1 bar(1). The average oxidation state of hn was found to be 4.13 (H) and 3.86 (1). According to EPR measurements, H shows two signals isotropie one (g - 1.994, AH = 950 G) for ttn(IV) in Oh symmetry and anisotropic one (gx- 1.978 and g, = 1.938) for Mn(VI) in Td one, L shows one isotropic peak (g = 1.995(6), AH - 130 G) characterizing Mn(IV) in Oh site. Magnetic studies indicate that H and L phases follow a Curie-Weiss behavior above 77 K (/Jeff - 3.8 B.M.) and 200 K (peff - 4.1 8.M.), respectively.
