Abstract

In this paper, we propose a target detection and classification scheme based on a two-tone sensor. First, to estimate the target range precisely, we extract the phase difference from the Doppler spectra of two echoes reflected from a target. Next, by applying a target classification algorithm, we generate several micro-Doppler images over time. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, we conduct a simulation of a received signal and algorithm for a walking human over a distance of approximately 3 m/s. In the results, we modeled five body components of the human, estimated the range, and generated a micro-Doppler image.
