Abstract

This study introduces a magnetically actuated capsule system designed to help deliver targeted treatment within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The capsule releases deployable therapeutic sheets (TheraSs) at selected GI sites, overcoming obstacles associated with multi-site treatment. TheraSs consist of layered structures that adhere and unroll upon contact with GI fluids, while an alternating magnetic field facilitates hyperthermia and controlled drug release. This approach, supported by real-time monitoring via a tethered camera, minimizes invasive procedures and enhances treatment accuracy, positioning this system as a promising solution for complex GI conditions.
