Abstract

The fabrication of a new type of periodically ordered, bimodal porous carbon (POBPC) framework with three-dimensionally interconnected, ordered, and uniform macropores was discussed. It was found that the bimodal porosity can be easily manipulated by controlling the size of polystyrene and silica particles. It was also found that this POBPC is an excellent support for electrode catalysts. Particle size analysis was carried out by using transmission electron microscopy.
