Abstract

Y2O3:Eu3+,Si4+ and (Y,Gd)2O3:Eu3+,Si4+,Bi3+ are red phosphors prepared by coprecipitation. The relative cathodoluminescence brightness levels of the red oxide phosphors are determined at low voltages. The samples are also analyzed by X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy, and the observed characteristics are compared with that of commercially-available phosphors.
