Abstract
A synchronization phenomenon between two identical chaotic systems due to common delay time modulation was studied. The phenomenon was observed both in two identical chaotic oscillators whose delay times are driven by a signal of another chaotic oscillator and two identical chaotic maps whose delay times are driven by a common chaotic signal. It was shown that synchronization can be achieved by a common delay time modulation (DTM) in chaotic maps and flows. The phenomenon was analyzed using the Lyapunov exponents and discussed in relation to generalized synchronization.
