Abstract
The authors present their experiences in supporting real-time transactions in a database server on a real-time operating system kernel, and their attempts at providing flexible control for concurrent transaction management. The ARTS operating system kernel was chosen as the basis for the real-time database server. Current research issues involving the development of a programming interface and imprecise computing server are also discussed.
