Abstract

A prototyping environment called StarLite is presented for integrated design and investigation of distributed real-time software. The authors discuss the assumptions and requirements of the prototyping approach. Experiments in real-time locking protocols for database systems are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the environment.
