Abstract

This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies/article-withdrawal). This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. Following image duplication concerns raised by the community, Materials Today Chemistry agreed to the publication of a Corrigendum (Mater. Today Chem. 36 (2024) 101954, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.mtchem.2024.101954) to replace TEM and SAED images that duplicated previously published work. Unfortunately, further image duplication concerns were raised regarding data in the Corrigendum. The Editor-in-Chief requested clarifications from the authors and asked for the raw data to address these concerns. However, the response and data provided were deemed unsatisfactory, confirming the image duplication issues concerning TEM, SAED and SEM images in the article. As a result, the Editor-in-Chief lost confidence in the integrity of the article and made the decision to retract it. All authors agreed to retract the paper. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
