Abstract

The resonance patterns of a spiral-shaped dielectric microcavity were studied using chaotic ray dynamics. Many resonance patterns called quasiscarred resonances of this microcavity with refractive indices n=2 and 3 were found to be exhibiting strong localization of simple geometric shape. These resonances in dielectric microcavity were constructed by quasiscar phenomenon. The results show that the formation of a quasiscarred pattern can be described in terms of ray dynamical probability distribution and wave properties such as uncertainty and interference.
