Abstract
The growth conditions of sol-gel synthesized ZnO nanorods were investigated. The photoresponse of the nanorods was also studied. The field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) were used for the study of the nanorods. It was observed that the current-voltage characteristics of the ZnO nanorods followed a typical nonlinear behavior with significant photoresponse below 400 nm in air. The nondirect band-gap transition in photocurrent was also analyzed.
