Abstract

In this paper, we propose and analyze variable watermarking code and ternary zero correlation duration (ZCD) code as interference-cancelled spread codes for transmitter identification (TxID) scheme of terrestrial digital media broadcasting (T-DMB) systems. The proposed ZCD codes can be simply implemented and has ZCD characteristics. The performance is evaluated in terms of DER (detection error rate). From simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed ternary ZCD code has better performance than conventional Kasami code. Because the amplitude increases as the watermarking level is big, power consumption can be reduced with the level adjustment on channel environment. The results of the paper can be applied to wireless multimedia digital broadcasting systems..
