On-off intermittency near the threshold of mode-locking in Nd:YAG laser

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

Characteristics of laser operation near the threshold are investigated in a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser. Near the threshold, the off-states of the laser operation are interrupted by the chaotic laser pulsations of on-states intermittently. The intermittent behavior is reproduced in computer simulation and show that the phenomenon is the very on-off intermittency.
