Abstract

Luminescence characteristics of green phosphors with different dwell times were investigated for optimal design of field emission displays. Cathodoluminescent photon intensity was measured at an anode bias of 2.5 kV. A steep decrease in brightness was observed with lower dwell time while a slow decay was observed at high anode voltage of 7.5 kV. Relationship between the brightness and the dwell times was explained by the excitation profile of phosphor at different anode biases.
