Abstract

We developed and assessed an MRI- and USguided navigation system designed to target instabilities under percutaneous ethanol injection therapy (PEIT) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for liver tumor. Particularly, semiautomatic registration based on an optical sensor is proposed to perform fast and stable registration. In addition, the integrated display of the proposed system provides MR and US images of homologous cross-section and 3-D graphic models of tumors or vessels segmented in 3-D space.
