Abstract

The paper presents a signal processing hardware architecture with low complexity for high precision range measurement using FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar. The proposed architecture is designed based on coarse FFT processing with reduced point and a fine spectrum estimator for the specific frequency of interest. The implementation results on FPGA show that the proposed method leads to lower latency and requires fewer hardware resources than full-point FFT processing.
