Abstract

This paper proposes a novel algorithm for block-based image authentication method to overcome the performance limitation of the conventional tamper detection method. The Hash Value Delay Hiding algorithm is introduced to extend the conventional method. This algorithm not only detects the partially tampered area in an image but also detects the permuted unit block pair, and furthermore, relocates the permuted unit blocks at the proper position. Also, the unit block replaced from a different image is detectable by the proposed algorithm.
