Abstract

Giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) in Co-based microwire annealed by pulsed Nd:YAG laser was investigated. The magnetic field was applied along the wire axis by using Helmholtz coil. The enhancement of GMI effect after annealing was attributable to the stress relief produced by absorbed laser energy.
