Abstract
We have experimentally observed on-off intermittency in two types of electronic circuits. One is a chaotically driven inductor-resistor-diode (L-R-D) circuit; the other is a coupled L-R-D) circuit which is a high-dimensional nonlinear system. The characteristic relations for the laminar phase probability distributions and the average laminar length are obtained in order to justify the observed phenomenon being on-off intermittency. These characteristic relations agree well with the theoretical predictions, i.e., P(n) ∝ n -3/2 and 〈n〉 ∝ σ-1, respectively, where n is a laminar phase length and δ is the deviation from the onset value of a parameter.
