Abstract

Fe84Zr7B8Cu1 amorphous ribbons were heated through different temperatures to determine their magnetoimpedance (GMI) profiles. Results showed that the amorphous ribbons exhibit higher degrees of magnetic softness when they are exposed to annealing temperatures that decrease their anisotropy field and increase their GMI magnitude. The amorphous ribbons were also noted to undergo microstructural change when annealing temperatures prompt their anisotropy field to increase and their GMI magnitude to decline.
