Abstract

In this paper, a novel MR (magneto Rheology) rotary brake is introduced. A conventional MR brake is equipped with coil, drive and power supply, so, external current should be applied into the coils. But the proposed system has its own generator, so no external current source is not needed. To design and validate this system, some electromagnetic field analysis has been performed using numerical calculation method, FEM (finite element method).
