Abstract

The depth profile of transverse permeability spectra extracted from giant magnetoimpedance spectra in annealed Co-based amorphous ribbons under weak field was investigated. The relaxation with relaxation frequency about 200 kHz was revealed from the imaginary part of the spectra. The imaginary part of the spectra, at external field = -3 Oe, showed a large decrease in static permeability due to the disappearance of domain wall motion.
