Abstract

The characteristics of Co-doped ZnO thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition were presented. The magnetization measurements were carried and it was found that most of the Zn1-xCoxO and Zn0.99-xCoxAl0.01O films were paramagnetic where as only some films grown at a high temperature in a low oxygen ambient pressure exhibited ferromagnetism at room temperature. The ferromagnetism observed in these films was attributed to the presence of Co microclusters.
