Abstract

A multi-functional MOF PCN-124 was constructed from Cu paddlewheel motifs and a judiciously designed novel ligand bearing carboxylate, pyridine, and amide groups. PCN-124 exhibits selective adsorption of CO₂ over CH₄ and excellent catalytic activity in a tandem one-pot deacetalization–Knoevenagel condensation reaction as a cooperative catalyst.
