Abstract

We propose an object detection method for monitoring the cattle in the shed. We attach a color marker on the cattle and capture video from a camera on the frame in the shed. First we analyse the color distribution of the shed environment and determine the color of marker being complementary of those of the shed. Then we detect the marker from the natural scene of the video using an algorithm based primarily on Hue, Saturation, Value (HSV) channel, and Filtering method.
